“BLOUES SE TOEKOMSREIS MET DIE SANTAS”
AGTERGROND:
Die projek het in Oktober 2016 afgeskop waartydens die Blouskool nege verse ontvang het vanaf die genootskap in samewerking met Veeplaas. Die Blouskool was van voorneme om die kudde so vinnig as moontlik uit te brei en het gevolglik ses koeie in November 2016 aangekoop op die veiling van Stanley Robertson. Vier van die koeie het kalwers gehad en die ander twee was dragtig. Ses van die nege verse wat ontvang is, was dragtig en het gekalf in 2016/2017. Die skool kon na vele pogings nie daarin slaag om die ander drie verse dragtig te kry nie en is die drie verse met die toestemming van die genootskap in Julie 2018 verkoop. Een van die nie-dragtige verse wat verkoop is word in 2018 vervang met ‘n vers vanaf Johan Havemann teen ‘n baie spesiale prys.

Anton Muller skenk gedurende 2017 ‘n koei.
Dr Hennie Nel en Louise Patterson skenk ‘n vers in 2019.
DEELNAME EN PRESTASIES:
Blouskool was en is nog steeds aktief betrokke by die Jeugskou. Die geskenkte diere het daartoe bygedra dat die skool nou met kwaliteit diere kon skou. Die kinders was gretig om deel te neem en moes vele van hulle van die hand gewys word omrede ons nie al die getalle kon akkommodeer vir deelname aan landbouskoue, jeugskoue en die Alfa Expo nie.
2017: Die begin van vele hoogtepunte vir die kudde:

- VBS 170001 behaal ‘n tweede plek vir bulkalwers (12 – 14 maande) tydens die Vryburg skou.

- VBS 170001 behaal ‘n tweede plek tydens die Bloemskou in die ouderdomsgroep van 15 – 18 maande.
- VBS 170001 word aangewys as die Reserwe Bulkalf Kampioen tydens die Bloemskou.

- Drie leerders van Blouskool neem deel aan die Nasionale Jeugskou Kampioenskappe te George met drie van Bloues se Santa bulle en wen die Senior Vleisbees groepsklas.

2019: Bloues gaan van krag tot krag en behaal die volgende prestasies:

Die jaar 2020 was vir ons almal ‘n groot teleurstelling en terugslag as gevolg van die Covid-19 pandemie. Alle skoue is gekanselleer en het Blouskool hom hoofsaaklik toegespits op akademie. Alfa Expo het virtueel plaasgevind en het Blouskool slegs deelgeneem aan die interras kompetisie vir gewisselde manlike diere met VBS 170001. Die opname van hoe ‘n bul vertoon moes word vir die virtuele kompetisie het by Blouskool plaasgevind met VBS 170001. Nodeloos om te sê dat VBS 170001 die interras kompetisie gewen het.
Blouskool tree op as gasheer vir die Fase D groeitoets van die Kroon Santa Klub sedert 2019. VBS 180009 behaal ‘n algehele vierde plek tydens die Fase D groeitoets in 2020.

Herman het ook van sy bulle beskikbaar gestel wat ons gekruis het met ons Bonsmaras om ‘n beter speenkalf te kan bemark. Die rol wat Herman vervul in ons kudde in terme van insette, entoesiasme, toegewydheid en algemene bestuur is grootliks verantwoordelik vir die sukses van die kudde. Hy is verseker ‘n goeie ambassadeur vir die ras. - Dankie aan die raad en die genootskap wat ons altyd met ope arms ontvang en deel laat voel van die Santa familie. Dit is vir ons ‘n riem onder die hart.
- Dankie aan elke teler wat op een of ander wyse betrokke was met skenkings of enige ander vorm van hulpverlening of bystand.
Dit is vir Blouskool ‘n voorreg en GROOT eer om met so ‘n unieke ras en genootskap geassosieer te word.
